Jio has increased the price of its new Rs. 491 prepaid recharge pack to Rs. 499 in less than a week of its launch. The Rs. 491 Jio plan was launched as part of the Diwali tariff revision and comes with bundled 91GB data and other freebies that the company offers. In fact, it is the plan with the longest validity with 1GB daily data allocation at 91 days that the operator is offering at the moment. The plan was priced at Rs. 491 till Monday, but this morning the tariff has been revised to Rs. 499. The increase is marginal but it is not clear what prompted the revision of this particular plan, and there was no official announcement regarding the same.
The is the second iteration for the Jio Rs. 499 plan – the original came with 2GB 4G data per day and was part of the original roster of plans when the company started operations last year. It was phased out when the company introduced the Jio Dhan Dhana Dhan Offer, giving the same benefits at Rs. 509 instead of Rs. 499.
