D-Street Buzz: PSU banks gain led by PNB; Reliance Naval zooms 15%, REC rallies

The top gainer from NSE include Indian Oil Corporation, Bharti Airtel, BPCL, Asian Paints and Grasim Industries while the top losers included HCL Tech, HDFC, UPL, Zee Entertainment and Titan Company.

The Indian benchmark indices in the Friday afternoon session was trading on a flat to negative note with the Nifty50 down 4 points, trading at 10,787 while the Sensex shed 24 points and is trading at 35,904.


Nifty Realty continues to outperform the broader indices, up half a percent led by Indiabulls Real Estate, Godrej Properties, Oberoi Realty, Prestige Estates, Sobha and Sunteck Realty. PSU banks were also buzzing led by Canara Bank, PNB, Syndicate Bank and Vijaya Bank.

Selective midcap stocks were up led by Apollo Hospitals, Berger Paints, Century Textiles, Dish TV, Exide Industries, Mindtree, Power Finance Corporation, Rural Electrification Corporation and Reliance Infra among others. From the BSE midcap space, the top gainers were AB Fashion, L&T Infotech and Reliance Infra while the top losers were IIFL Holdings and Max Financial Services.

The top BSE smallcap gainers were Max India which zoomed 15 percent followed by Reliance Naval and PG Electroplast while the top losers were Fortis Healthcare, Jain Irrigation Systems and Sarla Performance Fibres. The top gainer from NSE include Indian Oil Corporation, Bharti Airtel, BPCL, Asian Paints and Grasim Industries while the top losers included HCL Tech, HDFC, UPL, Zee Entertainment and Titan Company.

The most active stocks were YES Bank, Motherson Sumi, Bharti Airtel, Reliance Industries and PC Jeweller. Colgate Palmolive, NRB Bearing and Proseed India have hit new 52-week high on NSE in this afternoon session. 20 stocks have hit new 52-week low including names like Narayana Hrudayalaya, ANG Industries, Excel Realty, Gayatri Highways, GTL Infra and Syngene International among others.The breadth of the market favoured the advances with 825 stocks advancing and 816 declining while 420 remained unchanged. On the BSE, 1118 stocks advanced, 1126 declined and 140 remained unchanged.
